Aquaculture

AC-PRO & Sludge Buster are applied to all land-based Aquaculture systems

Product highlights:

  • Increase stocking capacity in conventional systems

  • Improves growth, reducing time to harvest

  • Systematically increase dissolved oxygen levels

  • Reduce fish mortality

  • Reduces Ammonia, Phosphates, Phosphorus, Nitrate & TSS levels

  • Activates aerobic microbes in the substrate and decompose organics

  • Reduces algae blooms and blue-green algae (Cyanobacteria)

  • Eliminated bad odours

  • Reduces risk of disease outbreak and anaerobic pathogens

  • Improves clarity

The brilliance of AC-Pro & Sludge Buster

Makro Organics birthed their products in the Aquaculture sector improving the quality of water and finding natural ways to increase available dissolved oxygen levels. The two-part combination solution offers results no other can.

Sludge Buster constitutes a combination of specially selected cultured plant fibres which slowly and systematically activate a multitude of positive microbes. Along with the plant extract and slow-release oxygen from the AC-Pro, this two-part solution will support the aerobic denitrification microbial community and function, particularly for a zero-discharge recirculating aquaculture system.

  • Improved Turbidity

  • Increased dissolved oxygen

  • Improved denitrification

  • Reduced stress on fish

From the laboratory

When this two-part solution is applied to the water and filtration system of an aquaculture system a slow, catalase-like emission of oxygen is observed. Activity is enhanced in areas of increased bacterial activity, and in the substrate with neutral, rather than acidic, pH levels. Most oxygen is produced enzymatically rather than by chemical disproportionation of superoxide, and a clear correlation exists between catalase activity and enzymatic resistance. The production and activation of critical metabolic enzymes are also observed.

AC-Pro and Sludge Buster activates, stimulates and improves cultivations of aerobic bacteria and provides slow-release dissolved oxygen. The filtration system is supported and enhanced buffering spikes in ammonia and nitrites and improving the decomposition of waste.

Average stocking density is improved due to increased available oxygen, improved water quality and the increased decomposition rate of the waste.

The composition includes extracts from a variety of non-genetically modified plants. The process of extraction is mechanical, using low heating. No toxicity observed in tests, namely Zucconi Germination Index 100% @ 1:24 H₂O dilution; Inhibitor materials <2.00 equitox/m³ Bioluminescence inhib./C5110184 (non-detectable) @ 1:24 H₂O dilution.

Instructions

Aquaculture application:

AC-PRO

  • Conventional Stock ratio kg/m³ with aeration - 1L to 500 m³ water

  • Conventional Stock ratio kg/m³ with no aeration  - 1L to 250 m³ water

    • As one increases the stock per cube proportionately AC-Pro should be increased.

Maintenance every three months:

Apply 10% of initial AC-PRO treatment bi-weekly after water top-up

 Sludge Buster Application

  • Conventional Stock ratio kg/m³ with aeration - 1L to 300 m³ water

  • Conventional Stock ratio kg/m³ with no aeration  - 1L to 250 m³ water

    • As one increases the stock per cube proportionately Sludge Buster should be increased.

Application Procedure:

Sludge Buster Application method:

  • Manually apply sludge buster evenly over the surface area

  • Sludge Buster will settle to the substrate

  • Repeat application once every new aquaculture season or every 3 months

AC-PRO Application method:

  • Take photos of dam condition from various angles.

  • Take a water sample to compare pre and post treatment analysis.

  • Check PH in water. Maintain PH 6 – 8.

  • Apply Sludge Buster and allow to settle.

  • Dilute 1L AC-PRO with 2+L water (only required to spread over vast area).

  • Spray apply AC-PRO with “Nap-Sack” or spray rig (spread over the surface area).

  • Monitor outcome weekly for 1 month.
